Web Design Trends for 2016
Flat Design gained popularity in 2015 with minimal layout, using more white space and less texture, drop shadows and gradients. This concept continues to grow into 2016 as designers direct focus on the product, service or brand and away from gratuitous graphics that can be distracting.
I am still convincing my clients that Scrolling is a good thing. Because of our use of mobile devices, scrolling has become second nature and is an expected form of navigation. Short bursts of relevant and latest content keep the user engaged. One Page Scrolling Websites will continue to gain popularity in 2016. Check out our portfolio to see some examples of one page scrolling websites.
Star Wars is everywhere in 2016 and you will see this theme carry over into websites with backgrounds of stars, planets and interactive galaxies.
Big Type takes center stage as a design element. With Flat Design the typeface becomes more important than ever (along with great photography). Generated web fonts allow designers unlimited possiblities.
Large Video Backgrounds add a dramatic effect and can relay your message better than any still photography. We saw this trend gain ground in 2014 and will continue to do so.
